The Role
We're looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Footwear Merchandiser to take the lead in shaping our performance footwear collections. From running and racquet sports to training and beyond, you’ll play a key role in building product assortments that meet the demands of athletes and consumers, drive business growth, and strengthen our brand's position in the market.
This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes sports, understands the balance between innovation and commercial success, and has a sharp eye for both product and consumer trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build the Line: Create and manage seasonal assortments for performance footwear, making sure we deliver the right products across running, racquet sports, training, and more.
- Know the Consumer: Conduct ongoing market research and trend analysis to stay ahead of what athletes and consumers want — and need — from their footwear.
- Work with Designers and Developers: Partner closely with product creation teams to ensure the footwear we bring to market meets performance expectations, consumer insights, and our brand identity.
- Drive Sales Performance: Develop merchandising strategies that support strong sell-in with retail partners and drive healthy sell-through across all channels.
- Pricing and Positioning: Help set smart pricing strategies that strike the right balance between competitiveness, profitability, and brand value.
- Plan for Growth: Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to manage inventory and ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time.
- Support Go-to-Market: Lead the preparation of line presentations, documentation and key selling tools for internal teams, distributors, and key accounts.
- Quality Control: Monitor and oversee product quality standards across the performance footwear line, working with development and production teams to ensure all products meet or exceed expectations.
Ideal Profile
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or significant work experience in lieu of a related degree
- Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience in footwear merchandising, ideally with a focus on performance or athletic footwear.
- Experience working for a major global sportswear brand, a leading retailer or a top manufacturer would be a strong advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of merchandising strategy, product lifecycle management, and consumer behavior.
- Comfortable working with sales data, forecasts, and planning systems (Excel skills are a must).
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills — you should be able to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
- A collaborative mindset; experience working with multiple departments and managing cross-functional relationships.
Language:
- Fluent speaking, reading and writing in Mandarin and English
